The Vision for Journeys Aviation
Journeys strives to provide top quality aviation experiences including flight training, aircraft rental, ground services, glider rides, and glider training. Journeys owners are firmly planted in the Boulder community and it is our intent to raise awareness of the opportunities in aviation, engage with the youth of our community, provide opportunities to the underserved community, bring in new and alternative aircraft, to support exiting pilots, and help create the next generation of aviators. We also seek to build positive relationships between users at the airport and our neighbors throughout greater Boulder community.
History of Journeys Aviation
Journeys Aviation has been the premier flight training school and FBO at Boulder Airport KBDU since 2007. Journeys was first established at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport KBJC in 2002. Then in 2007, Journeys owners bid on and won the FBO and Flight School concession at KBDU and operated dual operations for several years. In 2012, the Journeys BJC operations were closed down and Mr. Tracey Spence acquired the business at KBDU and successfully continued its legacy of excellence for another 6 years. In late 2018, Andrew McKenna and several partners, all aviation enthusiasts and Boulder residents, acquired the business. Also in late 2018, the new owners of Journeys acquired the assets of Mile High Gliding, Inc. the only commercial glider flight school in the state of Colorado, to consolidate and integrate the two businesses. Since then, Journeys continues to build on the success of the past by upgrading its fleet, facilities, training opportunities and staff, offering airplane maintenance services and providing the finest aviation opportunities in the Front Range of Colorado. We hope to see you at Boulder Airport soon!
